Workshops APAID
  

Why?

People with disabilities form the biggest minority of the world including 650 million individuals. According to the United Nations, 80 % of them are living in developing countries where they are often neglected, abandoned or abused. Through workshops, APAID tries to raise awareness about this situation and to contribute to an improvement in the participants toward people with disabilities.
 

What?

APAID offers interactive workshops in English, French or Dutch about the following topics:
 

  1. What do I know about disability etiquettes?
  2. Situation of people with disabilities in developing countries.
  3. How does APAID help people with disabilities in developing countries?
  4. Sport for people with disabilities. (Practical)
  5. How do you implement sport projects in developing countries?
     

Who?

Per workshop a group of 30 to 60 participants (dependent on the topic) will acquire the following:
a) Knowledge in the area of disability, sport for people with a disability and sport and development.
b) Skills like planning teamwork and presenting
 

Where?

The workshops take place in classrooms, auditorium or sports hall. APAID and the beneficial school or organization are responsible for the necessary equipment.
 

When?

Every day, APAID can conduct workshops. Dependent on the topic, the duration of the workshop will vary between 1 and 2 hours. Per day APAID conducts a maximum of 3 workshops of 2 hours.
